Professional learning communities (PLC) are part of Shutesbury
Elementary School's professional development. PLCs consist of 5-12 educators who commit to improving
their practice through collaborative learning and structured
interactions (protocols), and meet approximately once a month for about
two hours. The purpose of a PLC is to provide professional development
that translates into improved student learning. The school's primary PLCs are focused on reading, math, writing, and Mindset, by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D.
