Shutesbury Elementary School is pleased to offer Google Workspace for Education, formerly Google Apps for Education, cloud service for staff, teachers, and students. This service provides exciting new tools that are integrated into the educational curriculum. Some of the many benefits include the ability to access information from school or home and to increase the ability to collaborate and share information with fellow students and teachers. If a family chooses to opt out of the cloud service, this will significantly impact the student's ability to use certain technology and they will not be able to utilize many tools as part of the curriculum.
The Google Workspace for Education domain is hosted by Google and managed by the School Technology Coordinator. Currently grades 3-6 have individual access to Google Drive, Docs, and Slides. The goal will be to provide access to grades K -2 in the future. Upon caregiver consent, student accounts are created in the Google Workspace for Education platform and students can begin using these resources in school or at home.
