SHUTESBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE
RESIDENCY POLICY
Students of families moving into the District may attend the Shutesbury Elementary School for a maximum of sixty-three school days prior to actual residence at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools upon receipt of a statement from the parent (s) or guardian indicating impending residence within sixty school days and agreeing that, failing to take residence by that date, the child will be withdrawn from school.
If a family moves out of Shutesbury within sixty calendar days of the end of the school year, children of that family may stay in the Shutesbury Elementary School until the end of the school year. If a student’s family moves from Shutesbury during the school year and requests that the pupil be allowed to continue to be enrolled in the Shutesbury School up to a normal break in the school calendar, such as the next vacation period, and such period does not exceed thirty (30) school days, such request may be approved by the Superintendent. All requests shall be in writing. Exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the Superintendent.
