September 3, 2021

Dear Families,

WOW! We have had a great 3 days back at school! Although the weather on the first day was not ideal, these last two days have been absolutely beautiful! Students have been outside enjoying the cool air at lunches and recess and other times throughout their day. It is heartwarming and also a bit emotional to see the students laughing, playing, learning and being together. We are so happy they are all here.

I want to remind families that the school hours are 8:15-2:55. Students being transported by families can begin getting dropped off at 8:10. We know that the first week or so of transportation can be tricky and times are off. Please remember that teachers actually begin the school day by 8:20, so students need to be dropped off on time. Also, pick up for families transporting their students is at 3:00. The five minute buffer helps us clear the buses before we begin loading the cars. It is SUPER helpful for families transporting students to come at 3:00.

The staff at SES wants to thank the school community for their patience, flexibility and kindness as we all work hard to make our school days as safe and smooth as possible. We have been tweaking some procedures, protocols and communication to try to best meet the needs of all. The compassion and kindness shown to us by families and the community is so very appreciated. We are grateful to have you as part of the SES community.

Next week we have Monday off due to Labor Day. We will see students back at school on Tuesday, September 7th.

Happy Weekend,

Jackie

PS-A BIG thank you to the SES PTO and Town Librarian MaryAnne Antonellis for a wonderful outdoor Boo-Hoo/Yahoo breakfast on the first day of school!
