Dear Moose,

It has been wonderful to end the week with a beautiful sunny Friday! Many families picked up the flowers they ordered from the PTO plant sale this week. The flowers are truly beautiful. Thank you to North Hadley Sugar Shack and the SES PTO for continuing this tradition.

Our 6th graders have written some amazing ebooks on teen activism. You can find these ebooks by clicking on the link on the front page of our website. You can also find it HERE. Special thanks to their teachers for working hard on meaningful and purposeful projects with them.

Next week our entire school will begin our Artists-in-Residence program with Piti Theatre.  They will be working on improv theatre techniques throughout our beautiful outdoor areas.  Thanks to Laura Ginsberg-Peltz (5th grade teacher) for organizing this year's Artists-in Residence, which is funded by the STARS grant through our local Cultural Council.

DATE CHANGE: The last day of school is WEDNESDAY JUNE 16th We will have a 11:30 dismissal on this day. We had forgotten to count a school day that we reinstated in the fall- thus the date change to getting out one day earlier.  Also, PLEASE remember to send your student to school with the Symptom Checklist filled out (on paper, or online) as well as sunscreen, a water bottle and a hat!

Have a great weekend,

Jackie

***SCHOOL NEWS***

Along with a water bottle, sunscreen, hat and bug spray please send extra clothes in with your students.  On these rainy days many kids are needing extra socks and pants.  An extra set of clothes (and a plastic bag) would be very appreciated by your child and the SES staff : )

Thanks to all who have read our handbook and continue to follow the requests regarding pick-ups and drop offs.  We are getting the hang of it!  Timing (see school times listed at the beginning of the Roadtown News), staying in line, not passing other cars, and having students ready to jump out with all of their belongings is really helpful.

ALSO, don’t forget to keep filling out the Symptom Checklist!!
