REMOTE LEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS

December 11, 2020

Dear Families,

This week we welcomed back some PK-2 students to the school as we began hybrid learning in grades PK-2. It was great to see the smiles (from under the masks) and excited chatter from the children. I want to thank both the hybrid and remote families in these grades for your patience and compassion as we tried to navigate our way through the first week. We have learned some lessons on how to do things better, and we are still trying to problem solve on a lot of fronts as well. I also want to thank our incredible educators at SES for your talent, dedication and professionalism in this very tricky time.

The highlight of my week was watching the Kindergarten in-person students sledding down the hill near the track. I have included some pictures I took while I watched below. The laughter and giggles I heard from the students during that time was truly wonderful.

Many thanks go to our phenomenal PTO for the Diemand Farm Pie fundraiser that they hosted. Many community members came by yesterday to pick up their delicious pies. Thank you PTO and especially to those members of the PTO that braved the cold to facilitate the pie pick-up!

We will have another all-school virtual assembly on Tuesday December 22 at 1:00pm. It will be at this later time because our hybrid students will be traveling home at 11:30. Mr. Cortina will lead some songs and I will read a story and dance with the students.

Jackie
