NO SCHOOL – Veterans Day

Dear Moose Community,

SNOW!?!? What an interesting way to round out October! Can't say I'm surprised after the year we have all had. I hope you are at least enjoying the beauty of the snowfall, and I hope it melts so shoveling is not necessary!

We had our first all-school assembly on Thursday and it was a great success! Almost all of our students and teachers signed on. We were testing the bandwidth and it looks like it mostly holds up with everyone on (including cameras)! We took turns by class waving hello and showing our costumes to each other. We read a funny Zombie story and Mr. Cortina led us in two fun Halloween songs! We also played some Ghostbuster freeze dance. It was so nice to be "together" even virtually. We will look to add some assemblies consistently to continue the fun.

We have hired a new reading specialist! Annie Foley will be joining us in mid-November. Annie knows SES well as she is a parent of Desi, a 5th grader! She also worked here a few years ago. Annie brings a ton of experience as a classroom teacher and reading specialist. She is so excited to begin working with us again, and we are thrilled to have her.

There is another School Committee meeting on Monday November 2nd at 7:00 pm. It is expected that at this meeting the School Committee will make a vote about the learning going forward at SES. We will communicate that decision when it is decided.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!

Jackie
