NO SCHOOL.  Holiday Recess.

Dear Families,

We are so excited to present our 30 minute, whole-school review of ANNIE for you today! We will have a 2:15 pm and 6:30 pm show. Students have been working so hard with their teacher, Miss Samm, for this show. Miss Samm has borrowed a fancy backdrop and some costume pieces from Ja'Duke. THANK you, Miss Samm for your hard work and talents and to Ja'Duke for the support!

The snowy weather has certainly arrived! As a reminder, we require students to have snow pants, waterproof boots, a coat and gloves to play in the snow at recess. The students LOVE to climb our snow piles and make snow forts in the fields. If your student prefers not to wear snow gear, they are allowed to play on the blacktop with a coat and hat. If you are in need of assistance in obtaining snow gear, please contact Nurse Katie at [email protected]

I had the opportunity to test out the town's new CodeRed notification system for our snow days. If you did not get notified through CodeRed or if you want to edit how you are notified, please contact Jessica with those updates.

I can't wait to see everyone tonight at the Annie performance! Warm up your singing voice to join in on the whole community song-- "Tomorrow"!

Jackie Mendonsa

Principal

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

Seneca from 4th Grade
SM

JCB:  What do you like best about school?
SM:  Let’s see about that….probably writing and recess and lunch.

JCB:  What are you writing about in class now?
SM:  Something about linxes, cougars, wolves, humans and more I’m not telling you.  That’s the first book.

JCB:  What do you like to do when you’re at home?
SM:  Let’s see.  Let’s start in Spring.  Spring because that’s my birthday time.  Summer because that way we can walk our cats and really have fun.  Fall is because my cat’s birthday and my dad’s birthday.  My mom’s birthday is in the summer.  And winter because I make snow burrows, forts and the cats can go without harnesses.

JCB:  What’s your favorite book?
SM:  They’re all series:  Redwall (Brian Jacques), Wings of Fire (Tui Sutherland), and Bravelands, Warriors, Seekers and Survivors (all from one author – Erin Hunter).

JCB:  What do you want to be when you grow up?
SM:  That’s kind of easy.  Archaeologist which includes paleontologist.

JCB:  What is your favorite food?
SM:  I don’t have one.

JCB:  What do you like to do in the woods on the playground?
SM:  Normally running around woods, playing games and trying to climb trees without teachers noticing.

JCB:  Is there anything else you’d like the Shutesbury community to know about you?
SM:  I moved from here to Shelburne Falls to Mexico to Japan and then back here, then Columbia, Missouri where I got my cats and came back with the cats in the car with cat carriers.
