Students Full Day, In-Person Learning!
March 26, 2021
Dear Moose,
Next week we welcome April! We have all been so happy to have milder temperatures and more light in the afternoons!
Thank you to those families that joined me on Monday for our community information session around the protocols and plan for our full-day return to school transition on April 5th. If you missed that meeting, a recording is available for you to view. You can access the recording by the link on the front page of our website. You can also read our updated SES Spring Instruction Plan (formerly the Hybrid Handbook) on the website as well.
Something I want to make sure everyone understands is in regards to attendance. Beginning April 5th, those students that have chosen in-person, full day learning will no longer have access to remote instruction on a day to day basis. Students and families will not be able to decide in the morning that they would rather have their student sign on remotely for the day. Students will not be allowed to sign on remotely for being tired, or because household schedules have changed. If a child cannot come to school for the day, they will be marked "absent" (like in "normal times" before COVID). The only time an in-person student will be allowed to join remotely will be if Nurse Katie or I suggest to the family to stay home due to COVID diagnosis in the family or being identified as a close contact.
Next week we will be communicating our plans around in school lunch sign-ups and reviewing our masks, snack and water bottle requests. Teachers are finalizing full day schedules and preparing rooms and outdoor spaces.
Reminder: To prepare for full day instruction, students have NO SCHOOL FRIDAY APRIL 2, 2021, while staff have a Curriculum Day at school. As a result, students will now have school on May 28th (formerly the scheduled Curriculum Day).
We are truly excited to see most of our students return to school. We have been hard at work planning to ensure the safest and most supportive environment for all.
Enjoy your weekend,
Jackie
