Grades 5 and 6 showed great perseverance, teamwork and strength on their field trip to Morse Hillast Friday! The students came back with smiles full of pride. They climbed ropes and some even conquered the "Sasquatch".

This past weekend many families and PTO members helped and volunteered at Celebrate Shutesbury. It was wonderful to see so many Shutesbury students and families enjoying the beautiful day and participating in fun activities. Thank you to those who supported this!

I want to remind families that our OPEN HOUSE includes students and will happen next Wednesday, September 26 from 6:00-7:00 pm.  Families may come to school and visit classrooms and teachers. There will be some activities and information in the classroom and families can meet the teachers. At 6:30, families and students will gather in the gym to have a welcome back assembly. PTO and School Committee representatives will speak to the community and I will share a few words as well. We hope to see you all there!

Happy Fall!

Jackie

***MOOSE ON THE MOVE NEWS***

Our new Moose on the Move session is off to a great start!  We’ve been meeting on Monday afternoons from 3:10-4:00 and Wednesday mornings from 8:00-8:30. The kids also “rack” up moose laps during PE and recess or extra outdoor time during the day.  We will regularly post the kids’ personal milestones in the front hallway, in the Roadtown News, and they will be recognized at assembly.  Today we will recognize the following students at assembly:

10 Miles!

Ezrah Ginsberg

Ethan Lamore

BOXTOPS! BOXTOPS! BOXTOPS!

Each year our school earns approximately $200. 00 from the Boxtops for Education program. Have you seen the boxtops logos on your cereal boxes and food wrappers? Lots of grocery products and office supplies have boxtops! Some examples of popular brands that participate are Annie’s, Cascadian Farms, General Mills, Paper Mate,  Ziplocs, and LaraBars.  Before you put those in the recycling , cut the boxtops out and send them to the school!  Each boxtops earns us 10 cents. As you can see they really do add up  You can send in boxtops to the school anytime.  Remember to check their expiration dates.  Anything with a 2017 date or older can be tossed!

Thanks,

Amber O’Brien & Tyler Schenck

(boxtops coordinators )
