Return to School!
Dear Moose,
What a fun Folk Dance Night last night with Ms. Berube! We had a great turn out and spent a lot of time laughing, learning and dancing! Thanks to Ms. Berube for “calling,” and organizing the event. Thanks also to Ms. McDonald, Jessica and the PTO for assisting at the event. Perhaps we need to make this a new SES tradition?!
Also, this past week, the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades attended a show at the UMass Fine Arts Center – the Underwater Bubble Show! Students were enthralled with the magical “underwater” stage theatrics.
Coming up next week the 5th and 6th grades will be going on a field trip to see the movie “Wonder,” based on the MCBA book from last year with the same title. It’s a very busy and eventful time of year!!
Enjoy the snow this weekend (4-8” predicted in Shutesbury!)…
Jackie

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***
JCB: What is your favorite thing to do at school?
ML: I like to do the reading. We have to research Aztecs and I really like doing that but I also really like the science that we did – the inventions!
JCB: What is your favorite food?
ML: Before it was buffalo chicken but now I don’t really have it because I’m a vegetarian because I haven’t tried everything yet. Last night Sarah made a balsamic, a little bit of olive oil and soy sauce marinated mushroom. It was so good.
JCB: What is your favorite thing to do at home?
ML: We don’t really do much when we’re just sitting there. We’re not really doing much unless we have something planned. In the summer we go for hikes a lot or to the lake with my dad.
JCB: What book are you reading right now?
ML: I’m in the middle of Full Cicada Moon, one of the MCBA books, and this morning I started Catching Fire, one of the Hunger Games books.
JCB: If you could be any animal what animal would you be?
ML: I think I’d be an owl or a fox because they’re amazing.
JCB: Is there anything you’re looking forward to at school this year?
ML: There’s one thing I’m not excited for. Abby’s moving to Northampton, and then she’s going to go middle school there, so she won’t be here anymore.
JCB: Is there anything else you’d like the Shutesbury community to know about you?
ML: I’m the best. My soccer team, if we win all of the games in the season, then we get to move to the BIG field!
